No, your turntable is not properly grounded

if you get a hum when you touch the tonearm.

Muzikmike is correct when he suggests that you be sure that the tonearm is grounded to the preamp or phonostage chassis. Also check that the tonearm leads are on the correct pin of the cartridge and that there is a good connection. Finally (since I'm not familiar with this cartridge) if the cartridge has a metal body, check to see if one of the cartridge pins is electrically connected to the metal body (my Clearaudio Aurum Beta S had such a connection). If it is, you may have to insulate the cartridge body from the metal tonearm.
