Yes it does...

I think it's in reference to me questioning how such a thing can work.
I still can't work out how a single continuous sine wave has phase, so I can't work out how you can switch it.

The only explanation I can see is that the drive itself has one side as the ground or neutral reference and the other side "live". Switching them over would change which end of the motor winding was "ground" and which was "live". I suppose this might make a difference to the field emanating from the motor, which might well be audible. If that's the case you can do the same thing with any motor by changing over the motor leads.

This is not, however, a change of phase, it's a change of drive polarity with respect to the motor windings. I guess "phase" sounds sexier so it's just another case of marketing coming before accuracy.

Anyone who knows anything more on how it works please chime in.
