If your ears are attuned to timing accuracy (and your speakers and electronics are capable of same), correct absolute polarity delivers a more coherent sound, without smearing that sounds similar to CD jitter. If the soundstage is a bit vague and just isn't gelling, try revering polarity. It's not easy to describe, but correct polarity just sounds "right."
