My first Linn had a Koetsu Black and Fidelity Research FR64s which worked really well together.The FR64s still works great and out performs a modded RB250. I think the SME arms aren't a good match for the LP12.
I would suggest that the current Ikeda arms (produced by the founder of Fidelity Research but to higher quality levels) might be even better than the FRs. 2juki often has them up for sale on eBay and is a reliable vendor.
