I saw the Knitters tonight at First Ave, and most of the band came out to talk to people after the show. I asked John Doe when the new album would come out on vinyl. He gave me some good natured ribbing (he really was very nice to everyone) and said it probably wouldn't happen. He doesn't think there would be enough interest for it to be financially worth doing. I brought up the Rhino vinyl reissue of X's Los Angeles, and he said he was present for some of the prep work.
So anyone hoping for a vinyl edition of the new Knitters album can stop waiting (or try to license it yourself, which would be even better).
