It easy to replace the wires on the Well Tempered Arm. BTW, it was distributed by Transparent, but not made by them.
The stainless arm tube comes apart very easily. Just take a pair of pliers and untwist the plactic cap on the end of the arm tube. You'll find a wad of cotton batting and then the arm will be filled with fine sand. You can pull out the cotton with a pair of tweezers. Access at the cartridge end involves more cotton wadding so once you remove the rear plug you can remove the wiring by gently pulling on the wire. Route in the new wire, ram rod the cotton batting in, replace the sand and the cotton on the rear and you're ready to go. Anybody who can solder reasonably well can do the job.
