Both instantly recognizable, and there are so many others. One from the past, and one more recent came to mind while reading your post.
By the way Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler are both favorite listens for me. On Ragpicker's Dream there's a song called (I think) You don't know Your'e Born that has a great guitar solo/sound at the end - I always crank it up too loud on that one.
