Capitol Canadian Pressing

I came across a late 1950s Capitol with a Canadian label and cover. However the matrix numbers are exactly like a US Capitol pressing including the "anvil" of Scranton. For some reason I always assumed the Canadians would have their own numbering system.
Is it generally true then that the lacquers for Capitol Canadian pressings were made in the USA and shipped to Canada? This would mean that if you only looked at the matrix numbers you could not tell if the vinyl was pressed in the USA or Canada.
Would this be true for Columbia Canadians too?
