Short and to the point: how to tell the difference between actual mistracking and the damage done to a used LP by previous mistracking? I have a track on an otherwise beautigul LP that has the sound of high mistracking... but everything else sounds fine. The only test LP I have is the old Shure Audio Obstacle Course from the 60's and it says everything is a-o-k except for the antiskate... which I increased (nearly a gram) till it passed that band. Same problem with the LP though. If it is groove damage... fine. There are other LP's out there. It really isn't that bad but I am more concerned about damage to my own stylus from playing (Its Physical Graffiti man... it begs to be played).
The gear involved is:
DV 10x5 (professionally installed by dealer)
Linn Basik
