Re: Cartridge alignment

Read the FAQ here and there are a few different protractors you can download and print(make certain they print out to the proper scale) that are useful the most important aspect is correct overhang the conical stylus on the 103 is not alignment critical so you could get by ordering a TurnTable Basics $20 Mirror tool or something and have it in a couple of days to a week isn't going to be any big deal hopefully your vinyl is reletively clean ?
I find it helpful to have a few different protractors because they
each have their strengths, and until you become familiar with the process you can check and confirm your settings the mirror tool seems the most useful and it's the one I reach for first azimuth error shows up glaringly obvious and having the mirro image allows
alignment of the cantilever as opposed to the cartridge body allowing for an extra measure of accuracy with certain types of cartridge bodies and cantilevers which are not dead straight.
The Vinyl Engine Site has at least 2 Protractors available for download.
The search/archive here is loaded with detailed expert threads
on every aspect of cartridge alignment, one hint is to avoid dexterity demanding jobs like cartridge mounting and alignment
after a Big mug of French Roast etc.
