My skepticism comes from your statement regarding a clamped CD player that competes sonically with "any analogue front end". Posting such a statement here is bound to draw some sort of retort, especially when the player is not named in your review, even though it seemed to be your main comparator. I note that the rest of your system is listed. I think it's only reasonable for someone posting a product review to list all significant information. It helps the reader to put things into perspective, in judging the review results and the poster's credibility. I do not intend to e-mail you on this, I think you should post such a relevant detail.

I have never heard of anyone, aside from dB, who believes that the big problem with CD sound quality is resonance in the case, and frankly I find this belief laughable. Clamping the case of a medium quality CDP (or DVDP) is not going to turn it into a CD12, nor give it the mechanical integrity of even a decent Teac. Since you believe that a mystery clamped CDP competes with an Oracle Delphi, then perhaps you and I have a different set of standards.

I was not intending any sort of slight or sarcasm in questioning the safety of mounting a 35 lb. TT on a set of high-tech rubber bands. It may be quite safe, depending. You did not mention the diameter of the o-rings. Are they 1/2" in diameter or 1/8"? That would seem to be significant to me. O-ring materials can rot over the years due to atmospheric contamination and especially UV rays. If this happens, or if someone gets careless and severs one leg, does the table crash 4' to the ground, or does it fall an inch? I think the suspension idea has merit, I was merely trying to clarify the implementation.
