Michell Belts - New v.s Old ?

Hey guys, this is directed for all Michell owners. I'm hoping to finally solve my problem.

Which one is old and which is new in appearance between the two belts. I will describe them like this:

1. Rubbery feeling belt

2. Plastic (glossier) feeling belt

The reason I ask (some of you may remember me), I have a Tecnodec in which after 30 miniutes of play the pulley was getting a build up of rubber from the belt. I got a replacement belt and pulley. This new belt was glossier looking and this belt did not leave a residue around the 33 slot (pulley). However, this new belt was giving me a strange reading on a KAB strobe. It was steady but would slightly speed up at regular intervals.

So, I since bought yet another belt. This belt resembled the original belt I had that was more rubbery feeling. This belt is now leaving a residue. Which is a problem because after a while the residue makes the 33 slot on the pulley so thick that it starts to make the platter run faster.

I want to steer far away from this rubbery belt and want to ask you is this the old or new belt?

Also, is it possible that the "plastic feeling) belt is masking a problem of the table? Keep in mind that the the Pulley on the motor was replaced as this was thought to be the problem originally. Other than that, I'm at a loss.

Any suggestions?
