Folks, I've been lucky enough to score a 401 but I've heard the horror stories of those with bad plinths and would like to get this right. There are many conflicting schools of thought on 401 plinth design.
Martin Bastin's Maxplank and the Octavia Audio plinth both seem to be solid chunks laminated up from either MDF or ply with cutouts in just the right places for the underneath protrusions but with all the rest of the material there.
Slate Audio favour the big ass heavy plinth school and Loricraft now claim the naked plinth (25mm slab of MDF on damped mounts) is the way to go.
I'm tossing up a bastin style plinth with a corian top plate as i can get the required corian for about 35US.
What have you folks used with success in the past.
Many TIA
Drew
