My experience almost exactly parallels that of yours, Teresa. I've been sucked into the digital hype of the 1990's, scrapping vinyl for those nasty li'l ceedees. At that time I had a crappy vinyl setup, a low-fi Technics P-mount turntable with a record-mulching cartridge. Only within the past few months did I re-discover the beauty of well-mastered, well-pressed vinyl. And I haven't been buying anywhere near as many nasty li'l ceedees as I used to. But my primary listening is portably (on the move), so I thought that those nasty li'l ceedees were the best. Boy, was I wrong! Especially since I recorded vinyl onto a good-quality, properly-calibrated cassette tape. Thus, my home listening will be exclusively vinyl. And most of my portable listening will be on cassette, unless I want to listen to good music that isn't available at all on analog. Accordingly, I am shelving most of my ceedees indefinitely.
Happy analog listening,
ILoveJazz
