And it doesnt take expensive gear to hear that difference, in my opinion - a humble Rega or a 2nd hand Linn into a decent phono stage (say a Black Cube) and the magic is available. Beats the h*ll out of an expensive digital gear, on a right recording. The more analog recordings you use the clearer the 'effect' - go find thick but ordinary vintage (60s-70s) vinyl, play it on a decent Rega / Project and start wondering what has really happened in last thirty years. I sometimes wish I could return to the humble roots, junk the HE player and start all over again... or maybe not. Dunno.T.
