I've used this technique for years, mostly on moving magnet cartridges, and experienced considerable improvement in sound on just about every occassion.

I'm currently using a Denon DL103, but haven't tried to demag it as yet, although from Mr Carr's description, it may not be all that beneficial to do so with this design - can't do any harm to try though...
