I'm in agreement with Vinyl Survivor and Uncle Mike. 20 or 22 gauge solid wire would be perfect for that application. But please don't compromise the potential of the VTA by using what they have at the hardware store. Get some good wire. I like the Neotech PCOCC wire (link to a good source below). Whether you go with copper or silver is up to you, but get the teflon insulation either way. This will be far superior to anything you can buy at Lowe's, and especially important in a phono stage application with the low level signals involved. The Neotech is just what I like....there are a number of high quality, high purity wire brands out there.
