My preference is what I have on hand. 20 to 22awg solid, silver tinned, Teflon coated wire. In a phono stage silver just sounds right but this way it's not over done. Also stranded wire at these gauges is a bitch to work with. Remember when you make a solder connection the mechanical attachment is priority, then the solder joint.
