Why so defensive?

This is your new copy:

"ADC MODEL 40 PRITCHARD WOOD TONEARM

Classic and unusual vintage wood tonearm designed by the late Peter Pritchard of Audio Dynamics Corporation. A fine vintage tonearm specifically made to handle his high compliance cartridges.

In good condition. However please note that there are some spots in the aged wood as well as some discoloration on the metal. The arm comes with original plug-in headshell, interconnects and mounting platform. Only thing missing is antiskating weight compensator which can be obtained readily from other types of tonearm with a string attachment, otherwise complete.

This is a very rare and unusually hard arm to obtain in any condition. I have also listed separately an extra plug-in headshell on a separate auction.

Please note absolutely no refunds given on this item since this is specifically a collectable piece and its performance is not guaranteed since it is more than 50 years old now. No warranties of any sort given. The new owner should restore it for optimum performance if this is needed in any way."

-- You single out this point:

"please note that there are some spots in the aged wood as well as some discoloration on the metal". And only this and the fact that the arm is missing a part that you claim isn't difficult to source.

This practically implies that the discoloration thing is the only known defect.

You finish at the bottom with what amounts to a standard disclaimer on any older vintage gear.. fair enough.. but zero mention of play with the headshell.. which could very well render the thing unusable forever.. and the bigger question is as the poster above noted.. who saw the thing is: IS IT indeed CRACKED or split?

The fact that you initially listed it as "Excellent" wounds your credibility as a seller enough that your use of the words "insulting.. revolting.. vicious.." i.e., false indignation don't mean a thing.

And the 40 year old thing doesn't mean shit. People sell FR, Otofon, Zeta, Technics, SME arms of that vintage or older and they still are obligated to be truthful about its condition. Especially with something as precise as a tonearm.

I get that bearings will need love on any arm of this age.. but is there an issue with the HEADSHELL and is it the wand CRACKED?

I'd trust a member of our community who's handled the thing over you and your one time ramble to clear your eBay reputation.
