In that case, at this point would be a good time to clean out the bearing well and install some good quality bearing oil, not WD40. As a car guy, I am very familiar with WD40, Liquid Wrench, Kroil, and all the variations on that theme. They are indispensable when restoring a car that is 40 years old or older.
