I would recommend printing an arc protractor from Conrad Hoffman's Custom Arc Template Generator for Phono Cartridge Alignment. Set the spindle-to-pivot distance to 211-mm and use IEC inner and outer groove radii of 60.325-mm and 146.05-mm. Print a Lofgren A protractor with alignment null-points of 65.998-mm and 120.891mm. Adjust your DL-103 cartridge in the headshell so that it follows the arc and then adjust offset angle at the inner null-point.
To begin the alignment procedure, adjust the protractor and tonearm so that the stylus sits exactly on the arc at the outer edge of the record. Then, without moving the protractor, swing the tonearm as far inward as possible and observe where the stylus is relative to the arc. If it is short of the arc, adjust the cartridge outward in the headshell slots and begin again at the outer edge of the record by adjusting the protractor and tonearm so that the stylus sits exactly on the arc. Repeat this process until the stylus follows the arc exactly.
Next, adjust offset angle without changing overhang until the cartridge lines up with both null-point grids. Recheck overhang to make sure the stylus still follows the arc exactly. Keep repeating these steps until your cartridge is in perfect alignment.
Good luck,
John Elison
