Good Evening Lyall,
Sorry I have been very busy putting a new roof on my home and just getting
around to this email. My self and my partner Tony Vorell had purchased our Oasis
turntables from Dave and were just 2 of a few that survived from Dave's little
production, around 1977 or 78. The one you have is Tony's. We used your table as
a show item in our shop when we opened up. Mine had been in storage for about 27
years. I donated it to my good friend Brooks Berdan audio museum. Brooks passed
away a few years ago RIP and his wife took over the shop. His son Brian Berdan
got screwed out of his dads shop who Brooks was divorcing Shelia when he died.
Brian started his own shop which is Audio Ae Element in Pasadena, CA. One day I
was on their web site and Shelia Berdan was selling off a lot of the items in
the museum, and their was my Oasis table up for sale. I was pissed. I called her
up and picked my table and other equipment back to my possession. She is doing
my friends business wrong. Some background on us, Tony and I Started The Sound
Cellar Audio in Brea, CA. Tony had sold Whittier Music Co. to go in to
partnership with me to sell high end audio. When you talked about JD Brill, that
is a name that I have not herd from for many years. I knew him through Tony. I
know that Tony sold some of his system to JD. JD used to work at a electronics
shop up on Whittier Blvd. After Tony and I shut down the Sound Cellar I had a
partner Dan Ovando and started the Difinitive Electronics Co. We built custom
tube Pre-Amps, tube Head Amps, and tube Amps, and some Sub-Woofers. I still work
with high end audio these days. I build turntables for friends, and consult on
audio systems for my clients. May be some day I will redo my Oasis table. I
checked out your photos on your table and it looks good. It is nice to know that
Dave is doing well. I will have to get in touch with him. Let me know if their
