Hi Mr. Bear,Don't laugh too much. It is actually a decent machine. It won't displace my Kenwood KD500, but plugged into the aux. input of my stereo it sounds pretty good.
It has a decent arm, the speed is reasonably stable, and it is quiet. It runs off batteries or a wall wart and with good earphones sounds pretty good.I bought this thing to build into a portable stereo system contained in a medium sized suitcase which included an amp which I built, the Audio Technica record player, a Sony D5 portable CD player, and a pair of Radio Shack Minimus 7 speakers. I built this setup for my wife in the mid 80s when she was a classroom music teacher. It beat those industrial strength, OHSA approved record chewers which they had at the time by a good bit.
