I knocked together this headshell in anticipation of my Ortofon Quintet Black. The proprietary Maplenoll stock headshell (ebony wood) has female threads, as does the Quintet. The rod isn't perfectly centered, but it's not any worse than the original. It doesn't matter, as long as the side to side is square with the tonearm. Everything else is adjustable on the arm. I slightly elongated the cartridge mounting holes to allow a little movement to adjust that.
It's pretty ugly now from grabbing it with vice grips, etc..., but if everything squares up nice, I'll polish it up.
Mrs. Meatface is knocking together homemade christmas cookies. They look much better than my headshell. Probably taste better too.
