Colvin and Earle, Jimmy Buffett, The Band...

Shawn Colvin's collaboration with Steve Earle is good, with thoughtful lyrics and catchy melodies, but the vocals are often indistinct and the bass is overemphasized and slightly muddy. I'm a big fan of both artists so am enjoying this album despite the somewhat disappointing recording and mastering.

Jimmy Buffett's "Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes" is an album I've avoided for nearly 40 years because of "Margaritaville" being played incessantly on the radio. But after reading a review of a new release I bought a used copy of the original LP and I have to say it's a darn good album, excellent sonics and songs that have much more substance than "Margaritaville". After a 40 year intermission, I have to admit that even that song is fun to listen to.

The Band's live LP "Rock Of Ages" is timeless.

Regards,
Tom
