Lola Colt - Twist Through the Fire

One of my favorite records this year, pretty psychedelic, sounding a bit like Jefferson Airplane at times, but also brings to mind later post-punk references like Siouxsie & the Banshees, and then gets kinda mixed up with Ennio Morricone soundscapes and Israeli folk music and other influences from around the world. This is their second record, a 6-piece band with name taken from the 1967 Spaghetti Western film starring Lola Falana. This is pretty great stuff, dark and heavy, but unique and colorful too. White vinyl pressed at GZ, so not the best quality, but sounds OK. The whole album is up on youtube, title track below ...
