Records can play better or worse than they look. Earlier today I played a Blue Note title that would visually grade at G or G+. Surface scratches, haze etc, It played VG+ with surface noise between tracks, but otherwise no audible signs of damage. Treble and overtones reproduced without distortion or mistracking.
If selling I would describe the record as "Looks G/G+. Plays VG+ with no audible distortion or mistracking. Surface noise present between tracks. Play graded on (system description)"
Record buyers are much more critical than CD buyers.
