Back in the heyday of vinyl, I had a love/hate relationship with it. Loved the music, but had to deal with pops and ticks, etc, - if only I had a record cleaning machine at the time. I investigated every alternative to vinyl -reel to reel and cassette. When CD came out I was an enthusiastic convert, originally - perfect sound forever, right? But I noticed that I was getting a lot less satisfaction from listening to music, and ultimately went big on SACD, which is more involving that plain old RBCD. I still had some LPs that I played occasionally and decided to upgrade my Pioneer 45D to a Rega P3, and found that music came alive again. Nothing came out of my SACD system that compared to the P3. So, not nostalgia at all.
