RE: typically alarmist post (stylus cleaning)

I would recommend brushing the stylus after each record side to remove any and all dust, debris, and build-up of dirt. If you never let the stylus get dirty, it works a lot better.

I apply Stylast #5 Preservative to the stylus before playing each side of each record and I brush the stylus afterward with the Last stiff bristle brush to remove dirt and debris.

I also recommend using the arm lift. It is a safety net, especially as we get older and less coordinated.
