i've had both (and them at the same time)...and the Pink Triangle T will give you blacker backgrounds, more soundstage, 'cleaner' sound (more open, LESS veiled, less 'hazy'), and more detail, than the late 80's Planar.

and yes, the Triangle did have some 'reliability' issues (google it), but if the one in question here is working properly, and the price was right (btw...how much?), i'd do it.
