agreed about the Stylast preservative. the act of applying it more than adequately kept the stylus clean.
BUT the very best method of cleaning the stylus, for me, is the Magic Eraser. i examined my stylus with a handheld 40x 'scope prior to cleaning it, then used my then current method-some alcohol in a spot on a Discwasher SC2 brush.
before cleaning, the expected detritus was seen, after, the diamond was much cleaner, but after the ME treatment, the diamond was like new and SO crystalline in appearance! needles to say, the only way i clean styli now is with the ME.
