However, as noted below the integration of every element of the cartridge assembly affects the performance of all styli shapes. And every component from the cartridge through the phono preamp will make or break the performance of a cart. Finally, installation of a properly assembled cart greatly affects performance. Some styli require more precision than others.
From a "PRACTICAL" viewpoint at any given price point, I would pay more attention to the synergy of all my components and the "sound" I wished to achieve than I would to stylus shape.
