I have one of those Sonys...sitting in a box somewhere. I gotta dig it out one of these days...I think it is a good sounding table, smooth and seems to make the records with a bit too many ticks and pops a bit less noisy...
As far as your denon goes... If you don't want to ship it, don't. Sell it local pickup only, or on Craigslist or something like that. I think a custom table like that needs to be seen "in the flesh" so to speak, to be fully appreciated.
