Just picked this up new from Barnes and Noble with a 30% discount. I gotta say, it is a terrific sounding record. Very realistic mix, great dynamic range, beautiful string tones, and of course excellent performance. (Of the Grieg, anyway. I will not listen to the Nutcracker until well after the holidays are over, as I will hear quite enough of it during the season, thanks very much). There's some tape hiss, but I'd hate to think what else would go missing if they got rid of it.
Any other recommendations from this series of Decca rereleases?
