Maple is really hard and hard things are really good transmitters of sound. Perhaps its better than glass but if I'm going to replace the glass shelf why maple? I hope this doesn't come off as snarky because I don't mean it to be. I am genuinely curious. Even VPI suggests maple. Why not a rubber/foam puck under the feet or something, something that is better at absorbing sound energy?Where do you recommend I get the maple?
Thanks!
Nate
