Its in a different class

The Traveler is a great table but this outclasses it in every respect. I guess set up was simpler with the Traveler but thats about it. Don't get me wrong, if the Traveler is a table someone is considering and the Prime is not realistically in the budget, I wouldn't hesitate to get the traveler. The speed is more stable than the Traveler. I am really sensitive to wow and flutter and would occasionally hear it with the Traveler. It is quieter than the Traveler. I mean REALLY black backgrounds even with the glass platter. Its more dynamic with better voice separation. Imaging and sound stage is just other worldly. Don't get me wrong, I REALLY enjoyed my traveler, but this is in another league as it should be considering the price difference.

Let me put it this way, in college I worked in a hifi shop and the reference vinyl system had a fully upgraded Linn, I forget the phono amp, I forget the preamp, power amps were Reference Bell mono blocks and speakers were Vandersteen V. In 1997 it was about a $50K system. My stereo with the Prime is the first time I have heard anything that reminded me what that stereo sounded like. I have much more modest Focal 836 speakers, Wyred 4 sound St1000 integrated and a DIY phono pre that cost me $60 IIRC. Not bad!
