RE: Warning! There is a danger to owning a VPI Prime

Im envious seeing recent Prime acquisitions here in the asylum. The Prime likely will be my next table when the urge can't be ignored any longer.
Regarding the isolation, YMMV like everything audio. With my cheap $150 Sanus stand,
the Mapleshade approach offers subtle, not jaw dropping, improvement to sonics.
It does more good isolation wise in my case. While this example doesn't really prove anything- without the platform, if I had a record playing and loaded a CD in, the mechanical action of the drawer could be heard thru the speakers.
Personally, I don't know if the glass shelve is detrimental, but there's plenty of articles on the topic. I'm sold on the Mapleshade theory( to a point) and would change the footers and put it on a slab. They offer black finished footers which IMO, would look nice with a 4" black stained maple slab. More looks/$ than performance possibly.
I don't believe you're doing anything "wrong" Ultimatey, it's YOUR ears that matter, no one else's.
