Without any idea what turntable you have and cartridge your going to have installed there is limited advice I can give you. If you have a high value turntable and your purchasing an equally high value cartridge I'd ask the shop if one of the techs could come to the house and do the cartridge installation there. Since the shop is only 8 miles away the travelling distance for the tech is minimal, a nice tip for the tech would be in order, $50? If the table and cartridge are leaning towards the entry level side it might be a good idea to purchase the simple tools, protractor/digital scale, the tech would use to install the cartridge and learn to do it yourself like many AA members do.
