The wire to your -ve post moves to the + post and etc. Invert the polarity of the signal to both speakers

That is an EMI recording which will have had a stereo-pair mike base, plus some spots. It might thus have sufficient phase coherency for this switch at both spkrs to make a difference.

IE it is possible that it will sound clearer the other way around.

I would ask - if my suggestion works - that you report that it did, here.
