I think this may depend alot on budget and experience. There are probably many out there who would say the say thing about any cartridge above $200 or $500.

Up until about 8 years ago, the most I had spent on a cart was about $400. I couldn't imagine spending more. Now I have much more disposable income, and curiosity led me to want to try a much higher end cartridge, so when I spotted a used Koetsu I decided to blow the bundle and see what all the fuss was about.

It has little to do with ego because no one I know other than my brother has any idea what a Koetsu is. OK ego may have a little bit to do with it because now I have a better cart than my older bro....HA!
