I'm wondering if anyone knows the RPM spec for the motor Pro-Ject uses on Debuts, Xpressions, etc. I'm one of those lucky individuals with a noisy motor (actually I've had three Pro-Ject motors and all had the same problem). I'm wondering if replacing the motor with a DC motor might resolve the sound problem (And no, I don't mean the motor from the new Pro-Ject "DC" model turntables as I understand it's not the motor that's DC. It's still the same AC motor but with some sort of DC controller). I work for an industrial company with an electrical dept, so I was thinking they may be able to help me source a decent replacement motor that will remove the hummingbirds from inside my turntable!
