The shovel is bent too far up. Nothing to do - I don't have a rig to make a change like that so I will put up with it. Funny - "put up with it" ... it's a luxury.
I did gain height with the alternate headshell but every time I set the cartridge down expecting improvement the suspension settled and the stylus took a slight back slant. 89* maybe. (where is the 'degree' key on the keyboard, if anyone knows?) I think I might have gained a small degree positive with all that work ... But I like the red headshell anyway. Sporty.
And it plays just fine still. Very smooth with no grit like someone mentioned might happen. Man, the VTA is way high in the back but still no good. John was right - Can't attain that needed 5* up front.
I have a few brass shims ... maybe I will give that a try tomorrow.
