I bought a Pickering TLS2 variant and word was that the cantilever twisted in it's dried out suspension. And sure enough, that was the case. So I used it as the retip after having a generic elliptical shoot out of my tweezers. [ILL find that later]

Had to work the cantilever out of it's setting using tweezers, bad idea, and pinched the tube but did not destroy it; I am hoping it is going to work. After seeing the pinch I used a crude knife to saw away at the sides of the generator housing till it came away. Now I had to get the cantilever out of the generator housing and I used the clippers to cut the generator away from it till I got deep enough to clip the tube. I could then pull/slide the cantilever out by hand.

The tube is much wider than the stock DL-103 so I hope it doesn't bang against the yoke.

I used a needle to widen the tube after the cutters pinched it closed.
If fit snug onto the 103's cantilever but I used the cactus to help steady the retip onto it's setting and to damp resonance. The cactus needle was dipped it in wellbond, wiped it, inserted it, and twisted so the bend was the way I wanted. Hopefully it doesn't rattle in there.

Note: I put some duct tape around tweezers and stuck the retip to it but it was cumbersome so i relied on bare hands.

The SRA is off but I can accommodate that on the SL-1200.

Tools used were generic tweezers[with duct tape applied], wire cutter, needle, razor, knife, LED flashlight, two sets of glasses, 2x & 3x diopter, smaller rubber footer with hold for hold needle, cactus needle, wellbond, fingers, eyes.

I got low hopes because of the pinch on the aluminum tube and the wideness of the tube. I have a 1 hour wait for the wellbond to dry and 24 for it to cure/set. I will wait the 24.

Nope - Wellbond did not stick. I just tapped cantilever to see and it is loose. - ringwear 17:50:30 08/23/15 (1)
