Luxman PD277 DD unstable speed

Hi guys,

Bought my son a Luxman PD277 DD table which has started to suffer from unstable speed. I have done the obvious checks including spraying the guts of the pitch control pots and dials and speed selector switch with contact cleaner (CRG). The dials now rotate MUCH more easily and smoother, but the problem is not solved. When observing the strobe lights, while I can get the platter to rotate at the correct speed, the light wavers left/right slightly. This can be heard as unstable pitch. Suggestions, thoughts?
