And I don't know that it's idiots so much as by the time they get to the top they are exhausted. The collective "they" have put up with every imaginable type of asshole, become every type of asshole you can imagine and are just counting the days they can shitcan the whole thing and retire to the proverbial island where they can continue being assholes until they die.

So yeah, they act in idiotic ways but not because they are stupid.. They just can't be bothered.
