RE: Feikert alignment jig

Ah, your previous picture only showed the template from the front. To get the true geometric pivot, you need to wrap some thin paper cylinders around the pin to eliminate any slop.

To check cantilever alignment with the body, just take a photo and start examining the cantilever axis with respect to a central axis. You just need to take care to ensure that your object is as close to the centre of the image as possible to minimise the effect of spherical aberrations distorting the straight lines.

" For antiskate, I currently am following HW's recommendation of no AS."

At the risk of causing inflammation... that certainly wouldn't be helping....but let's not go there!

The problem is not so much the lack of antiskate (as a mechanism) but how this affects azimuth stability - the off-centred counterweight provides a restoring force for azimuth, but the twisted wires also provide an inconsistent/non-linear force (partial antiskate) such that the azimuth may not be maintained in a consistent position (your arm being a univpivot); especially if your records aren't perfectly flat and centred.

As mentioned before (and others have also suggested) perhaps increase VTF a little bit and see if that helps - VTF of course will influence the mean VTA/SRA which may simultaneously solve your problem!
