WTF ? = Which Turntable Friday ?

Premise: There are two turntables pictured below and you may pick one, for free.

Join the fun, pick one.

These two direct drive, manual turntables were manufactured roughly 35 years apart

When reading through the Yamaha owners manual I found it very interesting that the tonearm did not come pre-mounted on the table. The table was drilled, but the arm was packed in the box separately. Cool ! Being one who loves to tinker, one extra step in set up is welcome.

I worked in Yamaha shops from 1976 to 1992 and to this day have never seen a YP-800, so I'll take it. It looks really elegant and I'm a sucker for a pretty face.

Which do you choose, and why?
