I can't compete with you in this game, but I've had some satisfying wins. A used record and book shop that had been a good source for me for $2-3 classical LPs suddenly decided to price LPs by looking them up on ebay, which greatly inflates prices, especially if you look at offering prices rather than what people actually pay. And of course, these shops don't grade or accept returns.
But I got a copy of Leonid Kogan Plays Violin Encores (Westminster) there for $3. It wasn't on ebay just then, but I knew $3 was a low price. Turns out nice NM ones like this one can go for $100 or more, but this seller probably never considered that a mono classical LP from the 50s could be worth anything.
