Hello and thanks for your interesting reply!
When I was a teen I had a crappy turntable, but I knew someday I'd have a true "audiophile" deck. So I used to play my LPs only to record them to cassettes (at the time), and perhaps for an occasional party (with caution, nobody but me would handle the records!!!)
So now I have a pristine collection of punk and heavy metal (Hey, I was a teen in the 80's, if you didn't like keyboard-filled pop you had no other choice ;-). My Ramones collection alone is worth 300$ according to discogs... If that's representative - I don't know.
Today I practice the same technique, only the cassette deck has been replaced with a studio-grade stereo mastering device. I find that only 24/96 digital gets close to the true vinyl experience.
Have a good sunday!
