I hate all the vinyl comeback stories

People who have given up on vinyl long ago are now holding on to their records because vinyl is "coming back".

My large (>500 homes) development had their annual rummage sale a week ago where they organize everyone to do this on the same weekend. It has been a great event. I even took off a Friday to hit the sales early.

No records, not even one house had them. I always asked as well especially if there was an older person doing the selling or just helping the kids with their sale.

I heard this many times, "Oh we have some that we don't listen to but I've heard that vinyl is really coming back. We're keeping them".

I did have two people take my name and number who said they had tons of classical in great shape, just not brought out for the sale. No callbacks. I'm not surprised now that everyone thinks they have gold sitting in those boxes.

I've always prior to this year found quite a few at this event. All the press has finally taken its toll. I liked it better when people thought I was crazy and were happy to get rid of records.
